Well what can I say! We had an excellent stay at El Tonsy. We arrived late at night and the Reception knew who we were = automatically making us feel at home. We were taken to our room which was fantastic beds were spotlessly clean - bed linen was crisp and fresh, the room was very spacious for husband teenage daughter and I, Everyone from the cleaning staff to the Manageress Marian became friends!! The location is fantastic and the laundry service is second to none - brilliant and very reasonably priced! Excellent service for an excellent price - not 5 star but what 5 star hotels do you get to know all the staff - none!! The Hotel suited our needs as we were visiting Egyptian friends and was an excellent base for our stay. thank you all very much We will be back!!!
My only "dislike" was the lift. When we arrived and were shown to our room we decided to go get some essentials but could not get lift to go. This was resolved within a few days but please give it a coat of white paint instead of the 70s retro style paper stuff that is in it as this makes the lift feel ancient. Maybe show the bar/terrace opening times so that the guests know when they can go there and make more use of the rooftop terrace/bar as this has the most fantastic views and with the right ambience is a great place to have a cold beer and watch Cairo by night.

Excellent location, fabulous views of the Nile from the outside dining area. Room nicely refurbished. Small and friendly.
The lift badly needs redecoration and some health and safety measures with the inner doors.

I just had a wonderful stay at a hotel in the heart of the city. The location couldn't be better - right in the centre of town, with amazing views over the city and the Nile. The staff were outstanding, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the attention to detail was impressive. Plus, the value for money was excellent, with prices that included a delicious breakfast with cheese - yum!
All was excellent, no improvements needed.

This hotel is located right in the city center, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a double bed providing a good night's sleep. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met. We also appreciated the included breakfast with cheese, providing a tasty start to the day.
Although there were some minor areas for improvement, overall our stay at this hotel was great.

The Room was perfect ! , the view on the roof was fabulous but unfortunately nothing else is good in the hotel !!
Lets see ! 1- I Every staff member has his own policy and pricing system ! a- I booked a double room but for single occupancy and when I asked to add my friend to the room i Paid 30$ more than the price of the triple room ! and if i said no and left they would have charged my card ! b- at the first night once i entered the hotel i asked what is the policy of late check out one of the staff said clearly till 2 pm free after that is is charged as daily use, Next Day at 1 pm the other staff member who was with us told me in a disrespectful threatening manner I will charge you with 50% of the room rate (although i wasn't checking out ) ~ I told him didn't you hear what your friend said he replied yeah but you didn't make any deals with me !! I just left him and returned at 4 pm at to collect my bags and check out the lady once she saw me she wanted to start a fight ! and she charged me with daily use ( not 50% of the room rate ) and her rate of the daily use was 20$ lower than the rate they told me on check in c- the rooms don't have a copy of the room rate plan of the hotel stamped by the ministry of tourism which is considered a crime in Egypt ! 2- The Entrance is not even cleaned ! 3- The Elevator is not safe at all ! 4- The breakfast is so so poor for the rate they are charged me with ! I think all the bouffet costs around 150 pounds ! NEVER GO THERE !

Convenient Location, Friendly Staff & Affordable Price
The hotel is located in a busy area with easy access to public transportation. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. the price was affordable and fit within my budget.
The room was unhygienic with dirty bedding and broken facilities. The bathroom was in poor condition with a foul odor.

This hotel is conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and transportation options. A money exchange shop is only a few steps away, making it easy to access Egyptian pounds. the rooms have comfortable beds and clean bathrooms with all the necessary amenities. the staff provides great service and breakfast is included. the top floor bar provides amazing views of the Nile and the Pyramids.
The elevator only serves certain floors, which can be inconvenient for some travelers.

Just wanted to share my experience during my Christmas stay at this hotel. the location was perfect, very close to the metro station which made it easy to navigate through the city. the view from the room was great and there were plenty of interesting excursions offered. Not to mention, the friendly staff was super helpful and made me feel welcome. there were some downsides. the breakfast arrangement was a mess and they didn't offer any water or juice. the room could have been better maintained, and some of the facilities were outdated. But overall, I had a good time and enjoyed the value for the price paid.
